Industrial Resources Incorporated (IRI) was founded by Jay Follman in 1986 when he worked with a retiring Bill Harris to reorganize Industrial Refractory Installations, a company Bill had formed in 1970. Jay Follman began working for Bill sporadically in the mid-seventies on guinite crews, then, after the reorganization, became his business partner. In 1987 Jay bought IRI in full, keeping its ‘IRI’ initials, but rebranded and renamed it as Industrial Resources Incorporated. Under Jay’s leadership the modern IRI changed its focus from refractory work to mechanical and welding projects in mills, refineries and on marine vessels.
Since those early years, IRI has grown its expertise to include building erection, complex mechanical projects, steel fabrication, water jetting and continues to execute coded welding of many varieties. IRI is known for being able to successfully execute projects with difficult timelines and challenging remote job sites. During the course of its diversification of the company, IRI expanded its footprint to seven western states and now operates in five.
From our headquarters in Clearlake, WA we support projects in six states with a crew that can reach up to 100 workers during our busiest months.
Our fabrication facilities are located in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, and Sedro Woolley, Washington. In 2018 we increased our commitment to fabrication services by leasing a 15, 000 square foot shop in Sedro Woolley and increased our capabilities to manufacture large custom structural welding projects including mezzanines, stairs, tanks, structures to hold forms for rockets, airplanes and wind turbines, and sensitive work for the Department of Defense.
These large structures are made with carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel to support a variety of industries including fish processors, trawlers, tugs, and oil refineries.
A certified welding inspector inspects every weld to ensure every structure meets required specifications and standards including AWSD1.1, ASME, DNV, ABS, and US Coast Guard.
From our Dutch Harbor location, we provide heavy industrial construction services including new building construction, repair and modification of process plants, as well as welding services. Our year around staff supports four fish processing plants as well as municipalities and tribal corporations.
We are a professional organization with deep industrial roots. Our welders have the backing of years of boots-on-the-ground expertise, technical depth, and regulatory experience to ensure your project is successful.
